FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. — Aug. 20, 2026 Mocama Beer Company has announced its upcoming concert event featuring legendary rock acts Jefferson Starship and John Waite for a never-before-seen live music experience, presented by First Port City Bank. The concert will take place on Oct. 17, 2026, in the brewery’s spacious front lot, which will be transformed into a large-scale outdoor music venue.

The show will bring two of rock music’s most recognizable names to Amelia Island for a first-of-its-kind concert experience at Mocama, marking the beginning of a broader effort to bring nationally touring artists and large-scale live music experiences to the island.

First Port City Bank will serve as the title sponsor for the inaugural concert, continuing a relationship with Mocama that dates back to the brewery’s earliest days.

“First Port City Bank has always believed that being a community bank means actually being part of the community,” said Scott Ewing, CEO of First Port City Bank. “We want to support the businesses, people and ideas that make the places we serve better places to live. We believed in Mocama from the beginning, and we have watched it grow into a gathering place that brings people together in a really meaningful way. Helping bring an event of this caliber to Amelia Island feels like a natural extension of that relationship. We are proud to help make it possible and excited to experience it alongside the community.”

Building a lasting community impact through partnerships with local businesses has served as a key component of making this event happen. In addition to First Port City Bank, Barefoot Amelia and Ullman Wealth Partners have contributed as sponsors to the upcoming concert.

The Oct. 17 concert will feature Jefferson Starship, whose catalog spans more than five decades and includes rock classics such as “Jane,” “Miracles,” “Find Your Way Back” and “Count on Me,” alongside John Waite, the acclaimed singer and songwriter behind the worldwide hit “Missing You.” Waite’s career has also included time with The Babys and Bad English.

For Mocama owners Andrew Batey and Kim Delnegro, bringing major artists to Fernandina Beach is an extension of a lifelong connection to music that has increasingly become part of Mocama itself.

“Music has been a huge part of both of our lives, so this feels much bigger to us than simply putting on a concert,” Batey said. “We want Mocama to be a place where people come together, and music has always had an incredible ability to do that. Over the last couple of years, we have had the opportunity to bring more of our music world into Mocama through artist collaborations, custom beers and limited releases with artists from around the world. Bringing artists like Jefferson Starship and John Waite to Amelia Island is the next evolution of that.”

Batey has spent much of his career at the intersection of music and technology. He co-founded and built Beatdapp, a leading fraud detection platform for the global music industry that helps identify streaming fraud and manipulation and protect billions of dollars in music royalties annually. His career in music has also included launching and working with major artists, record labels and entertainment companies around the world.

“Kim and I love this island, and we think there is an opportunity to create something here that people normally feel like they have to travel to Jacksonville, Atlanta or another major city to experience,” Batey added. “We want people to be able to see incredible artists, with great production, in a setting that still feels uniquely Amelia Island. If we do this right, our hope is that these shows become something the community is proud of and something artists genuinely look forward to playing.”

The concert also has support from the broader music industry, including SoundExchange, the Washington, D.C.-based music technology organization that represents more than 800,000 music creators.

Mocama plans to use the October event as the foundation for an ongoing series of national touring acts on Amelia Island, pairing large-scale concert production with the atmosphere and hospitality that have made Mocama a destination for locals and visitors alike.
