Nassau County Releases Data Center Fact-Finding Committee Report and Recommendations, Launches Public Feedback Portal
YULEE, Fla. (Oct. 21, 2026) – The Nassau County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) released the initial draft report and findings compiled by the Nassau County Fact-Finding Committee on Data Center Development and launched a website portal for public review and feedback Oct. 21. The Committee, comprised of County staff, was established by the BOCC May 20.
The goal of the Committee was to conduct a thorough, objective review and evaluation of the operational characteristics, infrastructure demands, environmental considerations and community impacts associated with data center development within the County.
The comprehensive report outlines critical data points, recommendations and includes draft regulations for the BOCC's consideration. In alignment with Nassau County’s ongoing priority to create a more transparent government, the BOCC is inviting residents to review the initial draft report and findings and provide input.
The Committee held a series of public meetings over the summer to allow residents the opportunity to provide comments related to data center development. The meetings also featured presentations from subject matter experts who provided relevant information and perspective on data centers. The testimony and comments offered by guest speakers and residents are included in the initial draft report.
Website Portal Now Open
A website portal has been created for the public to review the initial draft report and submit comments. Residents can access the documents and share their thoughts by visiting https://www.nassaucountyfl.com/1528/Data-Centers. The public comment window will remain open until Jan. 8, 2027 at 11:59 p.m.

Background and Authority

The Committee is a research-based body rather than a decision-making board, and its findings are intended to inform policy options but are not considered adopted policy.
