FERNANDINA BEACH, FL — The Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival is proud to announce a $25,000 donation to Nassau Humane Society, made possible through the Festival’s sold-out Emmylou Harris & Friends concert and the extraordinary generosity of the artists and audience who made the event such a success.

The donation was made possible in large part because Emmylou Harris, Tammy Rogers King, Maura O’Connell, and John Mock donated their artist fees, helping turn an unforgettable evening of music into meaningful support for animals in need in Nassau County.

“As an organization that relies entirely on community support to care for the thousands of animals who come through our doors each year, opportunities like this allow us to share our mission in a truly special way,” said Chantel Scherer, Executive Director of Nassau Humane Society. “Having a few of our dogs there to greet concertgoers was a reminder of just how much love and support mean to the animals we care for.”

The event reflected the Festival’s broader artistic vision of embracing a wide range of chamber music traditions, including American roots music. As Robyn Lamp, Executive Director of the Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival, explained: “We are so proud to support another local nonprofit’s mission in this way,” said Robyn Lamp, Executive Director of the Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival. “There is something truly special about seeing an evening of music turn into meaningful support for animals in our community. It feels wonderful to be able to help Nassau Humane Society continue its important work.”

Three dogs from Nassau Humane Society (Scout, Ella, and Bobby) greeted guests at the concert, offering attendees a chance to connect directly with the organization’s mission. Since the event, two of the three dogs have already been adopted.

The Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival extends heartfelt thanks to Emmylou Harris, Tammy Rogers King, Maura O’Connell, John Mock, and everyone who purchased tickets and supported this special concert. Their generosity made it possible to transform a memorable musical evening into lasting support for Nassau Humane Society’s ongoing work.
