City of Fernandina Beach Ends Downtown Paid Parking Program

Following the results of the August 18 special election, the City of Fernandina Beach will end its current paid parking program in accordance with the terms of its contract with One Parking.

In response to the election results, the City Commission voted at its August 19 meeting to terminate the City’s agreement with One Parking as soon as contractually possible.

In accordance with the City’s agreement with One Parking, a notice of termination has been provided to One Parking which will terminate the program within 90 days. November 18, 2026, will be the final day of the paid parking program. Until that date, paid parking will continue to operate as it does currently.

The City recognizes that the conclusion of the program may raise questions regarding payments already made. In accordance with City Code, parking fees are non-refundable. The City will continue to provide information about the transition as the November 18 end date approaches.

The City also extends its appreciation to One Parking for its partnership throughout the implementation and operation of the paid parking program. One Parking has been a professional and cooperative partner and has worked with the City to facilitate an orderly conclusion to the agreement.

“We appreciate the professionalism and partnership One Parking has demonstrated throughout this process,” said City Manager Sarah Campbell. “While the program will be ending, we are grateful for their willingness to work with the City and honor the terms of our agreement as we move forward.”

The City thanks residents for their participation in the election and will continue to keep the community informed as the paid parking program winds down.
