Marketing & Branding of Local Shrimp Industry – Community Meeting October 15th
Wild-caught shrimp is part of Nassau County’s identity. It supports local shrimpers and businesses, and it gives residents and visitors a way to experience the food and traditions of our coastal community.
The Northeast Florida Regional Council (NEFRC) is inviting the community to help shape a marketing and branding initiative for the local shrimp industry through the USDA Local Food Promotion Program. Earlier research gathered perspectives from shrimpers and restaurants. Now, NEFRC wants to hear more from the people who catch, serve, sell, and enjoy local shrimp.
A community meeting will be held in Fernandina Beach:
Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 5:30 p.m.
MLK Center Auditorium
1200 Elm Street, Fernandina Beach, FL 32034
The Nassau County Chamber of Commerce encourages shrimpers, restaurant owners, seafood retailers, hospitality professionals, and interested community members to attend. Your perspective can help ensure Nassau County’s shrimping heritage and local businesses are represented as this regional effort moves forward.
